"In our culture the chicken is seen as an animal of poor intelligence and for that is disregarded, as other yard animals the chicken walks in their own waste. So I decided to use the part of the chicken that stays more in touch with the vile and the dirt: the feet. This way I restore the dignity of the animal, celebrating what usually is considered waste by our consumerist society because is perceived as dirty and unworthy. Recognizing the value of those feet helps us shed a new light on the parts of us that we consider not noble enough and for which we carry shame. The power resides in recognizing the value of our shadow and in learning to witness and give thanks to it."
