"I believe it is necessary to embrace this shadow side that it essential and completes us, looking through the lenses of gratitude at the moments of unease that are a valid access point to dive deeper into ourselves and finally hold the shadows of hurt and separation that scared us so much. Exploring those dark inner spaces, and stay there for a while if necessary, is regenerative and essential work that allows us to come closer to what we feel without judgement, through an open and kind approach that leads to self knowing and acceptance. Leaving nothing out. My purpose is to celebrate death as much as life, and by death I don’t mean just the demise of our bodily vessel but also, and most of all, the death of Ego and the conditionings that takes us away from our true selves making us following rules that society feeds us as right but that often do not belong to us. Embracing one’s shadow and befriend it is beautiful and crucial to be complete. My pieces want to lead the audience on a consideration about our dark side, giving it the recognition and respect the good and positive always get with the intention of supporting an education of openness towards the dark as a fertile place per the individual. My goal is to touch on a soul level rather than a mental one. The use of symbol, color and dead animal body parts wants to stir uncomfortable feelings in the viewer to give them the chance to face those uneasy feelings and stay with them for a while."
