“Neither intervention, be it addition or subtraction of material, nor mere volumetric configuration: the sculpture for Fabio Roncato is first of all possibility. Get in relation with the matter. Identify the operational opportunities that it offers and makes possible. Evaluate the limits and proceed by admitting mistakes, adjustments and variations also determined by the case. His goal is to make the formative moment stand out in his work. A praxis and mutability that must in any case be recognizable in it. The material therefore becomes a concrete trace of the variability, of an operational dynamism often determined by the relationship with the context of production of the work and by the unpredictability of the different natural factors present in the environments in which it works. Contradict the static nature of the material while using it. This is his poetic figure.”
