Fabio Ranzolin
The research of Fabio Ranzolin is based on gender-related themes and the condition of homosexuality in the Italian context, with particular attention to the patriarchy effects on a worldwide view. He is also interested in the creation of links between different topics, with a critical eye on the world of contemporary art and neo-colonialism issues. During the first period of his artistic practice, he adopted an auto-biographic and playful approach to his creative process, focusing on the concept of privacy. The theme of memory is one of the cornerstones of his artistic method: the personal and domestic experience of Alzheimer’s disease is applied by the artist to a general and hypothetical view of contemporary society. His creative process is basically structured in simple actions that point out to gather objects and experiences together. By doing this he attempts to create a narration in which effects and relations are lost in the unavoidability of the late capital era.
