Andrea Martinucci
Andrea Martinucci (Rome, b. 1991) is a visual artist based in Milan. His research is dedicated to exploring a wide range of subjects through a multidisciplinary approach, delving into fiction and theory. The artist primarily uses painting but extends his practice also including writing and moving images. Martinucci views the archive as a flexible material, and sees it as a space where personal traces can expand through narratives told by multiple voices. Often, these records emerge from the digital realm, leading to unforeseen interpretations and layers of meaning. This process encourages introspection into the dynamic nature of memory, identity, and communication within our social and political landscape. Inanimate objects take on the role of protagonists, freeing themselves from their ordinary functions. This metaphorical approach serves as a nonverbal communication method that evolves through visual arrangements, aiming to evoke humor, absurdity, and poetry.
