"Over time I have deepened the traditional technique of oil painting which has led me to different paths and solutions. My works are composed of magical surreal landscapes, narrative, grotesque, funny, gestural inner worlds, followed by another abstract research made of backgrounds, shapes, colors, sensations, a magnifying glass that could seem like a microscopic analysis of a world inconsistent, constantly changing and transforming itself. My pictorial research also draws inspiration from biology and ethology, as if art were part of those innate adaptation and evolution processes in the life process. Observing animal behaviors, I ask myself questions about what is the fundamental point that drives man to make art. Having now disconnected from purely practical functions, art is a moment of meditation, abstraction and discovery, an escape, a meeting, important and an end in itself."
