Francesco Pacelli
Francesco Pacelli (Perugia, Italy/1988) lives and works in Milan, where he graduated in 2013 in Design at Politecnico University. He worked as assistant for Roberto Cuoghi in 2016 and he is part of the artistic direction of Dimora Artica in Milan.
The research takes origin from multiple spheres of contemporary culture, proposing formal syntheses with imaginative and deliberately ambiguous features, assuming unrealistic but potentially plausible tones for the spectator. Through repeated semantic stratifications and a continuous tension for experimenting with materials, the work puts together collective imaginery and the personal sphere in a loop of visual references, destabilizing and familiar at the same time. The theme of the relationship between human beings and their evolutionary perspectives of hybridization with technology, the nuances of meaning between natural and artificial, physicality and virtuality and the subtle dichotomy between appearance and reality are among the main investigation areas.
'Krubero' from Screen Tearing, collective exhibition at Dimora Artica, Milano, 2019
'The tripophiles' from Baitball (01), collective exhibition at Palazzo San Giuseppe, Polignano a mare, 2020
'Joru series' from Abisso elastico, solo exhibition at Current project, Milano, 2019
'Exodus' from Vogelkop ballad, solo exhibition at Display, Parma, 2018
'There is so much to lie about it that I don't know how to start' from Tetsuo's body collective exhibition held at 9h Hotel Futomachi, Tokyo, Japan, 2019
'You did love it so, you did love it like a son' from Fishy fishy fishy X, solo exhibition at Rehearsal, Milano, 2019
