Frenk and Fresca
(Francesca Bicego and Giulia Baldussi)
Frenk and Fresca is a duo of Italian artists living in Turin composed by Francesca Bicego and Giulia Baldussi. Sprouted within the former occupied space "Bastione San Maurizio" as organizers of cultural events, their collaboration has flowed into love and continues in the artistic collaboration. Reflection and creation come together in a single impulsive act of trust between the parties, without end and without purpose, their works come to life for themselves.
They have various interests which are changing depending on the moody gaze they have on the world at that particular moment. They love to emphasize the death of beautiful things, giving new life where there is none and never will. Their collaboration creates new ways for both to observe the outside. Lovers and explorers of the most ancient and wasted resources this world can give them, they improvise gardeners with excellent results thus becoming experts in seeds, bulbs, grafts and cuttings. If they could wash / remove the matter, as the egg deprives itself of its shell with vinegar, they would do so, so that they could observe what is hidden inside the most beautiful things.
